Improv Everywhere Does Star Wars on a NYC Subway

July 14, 2010

In their own words, “Improv Everywhere causes scenes of chaos and joy in public places. Created in August of 2001 by Charlie Todd, Improv Everywhere has executed over 100 missions involving tens of thousands of undercover agents. The group is based in New York City.”

I had the pleasure of witnessing Improv Everywhere in the midst of a bout of ‘Public Joy’ in Union Square in Manhattan. It really is fun when something like this happens around you.

Today they posted a bit of Fantastic Cinematic Homagery in the form of this video…

God I wish I was there for that.

That is nothing. You should see when NY Comic Con is in town. You can’t walk down a single street without bumping into a cadre of Clone warriors, or Spiderman, or a zombie or something. And everyone takes it in wonderful stride.

Think of the orchestration this took and all the other random factors they had to account for. Chaos! I love it!

Probably the only time Darth Vader’s entrance was greeted with laughter! Thanks for sharing!

Improve Everywhere always brings a smile to my face! I especially liked the Mars Holst Sound track playing in the back ground, one of John William’s heaviest influences for writing his Star Wars themes.
